Jean Genie, fronted by the superb David Bowie look and sound-alike John Mainwaring, are the band of the moment.  Following the death of Bowie last year, musicians have been clamouring to relive and pay tribute to ‘Starman’.  There is no-one closer to Bowie than John, who fronted Bowie’s original Spiders from Mars!

John Mainwaring was approached by David Bowie's most famous band of the 1970s, 'The Spiders from Mars' and was asked by them if he'd front the band and tour with them. Obviously John's answer was 'Yes' and John remains to this day to be one of only a few tribute artists to tour and perform with an original artist's band.  John also played harmonica and sang backing vocals with Def Leppard's  Joe Elliott on the Spiders From Mars Cybernauts album.

Jean Genie band soon became renowned for their accurate recreation of Bowie's flamboyant stage shows and Jean Genie have even had the privilege of performing alongside the original 'Spiders from Mars' at the Mick Ronson Memorial concert after show party, performing in front of stars such as Roger Daltry (The Who), Roger Taylor (Queen) to name just a couple.  Jean Genie has twice been invited to headline The David Bowie Fan club Convention, and have played their 70's and 80's show to capacity crowds at many festivals throughout the UK. They have also taken their stunning show overseas, with appearances in Europe, America and the Middle-East.
