Following over 600 survey responses and letters of support, South West Surrey MP Jeremy Hunt’s campaign to improve local cancer services will be formally launched on September 16th at the Haslemere Hall. Jeremy is strongly backing the local NHS as it seeks to address the backlog in cancer treatments caused by the pandemic and supporting the Royal Surrey’s mission to become a the pre-eminent cancer hub in the South East. For that he wants to raise funds for a new cancer ward at the hospital which would mean that cancer treatment could continue uninterrupted in future pandemics or during periods of winter pressure. This evening event is free (50 pence booking fee) to attend for constituents interested in local health issues, COVID’19 and the vaccination programme and will include Senior Speakers from the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Surrey Heartlands CCG and Haslemere GP Surgery.
