K2 is widely recognised as one of the most difficult and dangerous mountains in the world to climb. In 2018, Jake Meyer finally reached the summit on his 3rd attempt in 10 years, and became only the 7th Briton to survive summiting a mountain that holds a 1:4 death to summit ratio. Jake’s story is an incredible story of determination, tenacity and perseverance.
When Jake was 21, he became the youngest Briton to climb Everest and the youngest man in the world to complete the 7 summits (the highest mountains of each of the seven continents). He is a serving Army Reservist Officer and has served on operations in Afghanistan.
This event is at Haslemere Museum.
